April 13, 2005 PHILADELPHIA BASEBALL FANS VIEW CUSTOM MEMORABILIA DISPLAYS AT THEIR NEW PALL PARK CREATED BY CABLE DESIGN, INC. Illinois Firm’s Design and Engineering Work Showcased Throughout Citizens Bank Park Willmette, Illinois-based Cable Design, Inc., an innovative cable and display design firm, worked with Philadelphia architect EwingCole to incorporate its cable and display design work at the new 43,500-seat baseball park within the Philadelphia Sports Complex. Completed in time for the 2004 season, Cable Design designed and engineered the custom cases at the entrance to the corporate office lobby, the VIP area, an enclosed lounge and the concession area. Cable Design fabricated the case in the office lobby that was built directly into the wall to showcase baseball memorabilia. For the VIP area, Cable Design built secure, floating glass units suspended on cables from the ceiling to display autographed baseballs. In addition, Cable Design provided the cable, glass shelving and low-voltage lighting needed for the bar areas including highlighting the back bar of the Club Level concessions. “Cable Design’s unique design capabilities brought us together again for the Phillies’ project,” said Steve Ziegler, project architect for EwingCole. “Their ability to work within our designs, on time and within budget is important for us on these types of larger projects.” Cable Design is known for its national and international work in the education and corporate arenas. However, this is not the first stadium project of this magnitude that the firm has worked on. For example, Cable Design provided cable handrails for the Arizona Diamondback Ban One Ball Park in Phoenix, the Pac Bell Park in San Francisco, California and the Ice Palace in Tampa, Florida. Of course, each stadium had a different design, and the San Francisco ball park was along the water front. “Being involved with Citizens Ball Park was a tremendous opportunity for us. We could incorporate our cable and case designs into a beautiful new landmark,” said Kathleen Pope, president of Cable Design. “The team at EwingCole transformed this industrial area into an innovative, fan-friendly ballpark for Phillies fans to enjoy for years to come.” For more than 20 years, Cable Design has been creating unique deisngs and providing products and services to architects, commercial developers and people in the design industry. Pope determines what type of metals, structural and decorative cabling, signage, tempered and cast glass, and low-voltage lighting will be used. The ultimate goal is to achieve the practical result of someone’s vision in order to complete the project. For
